Morning Sickness - Helpful Hints


(1) Avoid irritable agents such as certain foods, (Oh! My goodness, Fish!) cooking smells, emotional situations, room temperatures, etc.

(2) Mildly sour foods (e.g. pickles) can calm down the reflex action.

(3) Put one small slice of ginger root under you tongue and suck slowly.

(4) Ginger tea- use 10 grams of ginger root and 2 cups of water. Boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Add a tea bag, and let sit for a few minutes. Drink slowly when it is still hot.

(5) Acupressure- a quick fix.
See diagrams. The acupuncture point is called "Internal Gate" in Chinese. It is located 2 finger widths (index & mid-finger) behind the first crease life of the wrist in between 2 long tendons. Press either left or right side with your thumb for a few minutes. Repeat as necessary. This point can be used for motion sickness and upset stomachs. Good luck. Mom!
